RAWALPINDI, Aug 13 (APP): A special tree plantation campaign was organized at Allama Iqbal Park, Rawalpindi, as part of Independence Day celebrations on the directives of Horticulture Agency Rawalpindi Managing Director Ahmed Hassan Ranjha.
Students and teachers of The City School, Satellite Town Campus, actively participated in the plantation drive along with staff of the Horticulture Agency Rawalpindi and planted saplings at various locations in the park.
The campaign aimed to make the city greener and more beautiful and create awareness among citizens, particularly the younger generation, about environmental protection and the importance of trees.
The students expressed their commitment to protecting trees and contributing to a clean, green and healthy environment.
Officials of the Horticulture Agency Rawalpindi said that organizing the plantation campaign on Independence Day reflected the collective responsibility of citizens to protect the environment alongside ensuring the development and prosperity of the country.
They said various initiatives were being undertaken to promote green spaces, beautify parks and expand tree plantation activities across the city.
The agency urged citizens, educational institutions and civil society to actively participate in plantation campaigns and ensure proper care of saplings to make Rawalpindi a greener, more beautiful and environmentally friendly city.
