16 shops, warehouses sealed in fireworks sales crackdown

Police have launched a crackdown against the illegal sale and storage of fireworks in Rawalpindi on the directives of City Police Officer (CPO) Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera, sealing 16 shops and warehouses and recovering fireworks from the premises.

RAWALPINDI, Aug 12 (APP):Police have launched a crackdown against the illegal sale and storage of fireworks in Rawalpindi on the directives of City Police Officer (CPO) Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera, sealing 16 shops and warehouses and recovering fireworks from the premises.

According to police, cases have been registered against those allegedly involved in the sale and storage of fireworks at Ganjmandi Police Station.

Police said the arrested suspects would be challaned before the courts along with solid evidence collected during the investigation.

CPO Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera said those involved in dangerous and potentially life-threatening activities, including the manufacture, sale or use of fireworks, would not be allowed to evade the law.

He directed police to continue the crackdown and take strict action against individuals involved in the illegal fireworks trade.

Police official said enforcement operations would continue across the city to prevent the sale and storage of fireworks and ensure public safety.
