Inspection of flour mills begins in Malakand

PESHAWAR, Aug 12 (APP):The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Department has launched inspections of flour mills in Malakand district to assess the quality, availability and handling of government-supplied flour.

According to the Food Department on Wednesday, the inspections were conducted on the directives of Food Secretary Shah Mahmood and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Director Mohsin Iqbal.

During the inspection, officials reviewed the quality and availability of government flour and checked whether flour mills were handling the commodity according to the prescribed standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Deputy Director Food Malakand Division, Zubair Khan, Assistant Food Controller Malakand, Attaullah and Assistant Director Food Safety and Halal Food Authority, Majid Khan visited various flour mills as part of the inspection drive.

Officials also collected samples of the flour from different mills for detailed testing to ensure compliance with the required quality standards and regulations.

According to the Food Department, the inspected flour mills were operational and functioning normally.

Officials said the main purpose of the inspections was to ensure the quality of government flour, proper handling and its availability to the public.

The Food Department said inspections of flour mills would continue to monitor the quality of government-supplied flour and ensure compliance with prescribed regulations. The department emphasized that ensuring quality flour and its proper availability to consumers remains a key priority of the department.
