SARGODHA,Aug 12 (APP):The Auqaf and Religious Affairs Department Punjab organized a Naat recitation competition at Markazi Masjid Ashrafia, Gol Chowk in which male and female students participated here on Wednesday.
The competition was supervised by Kashif Imran Alvi and Maulana Qari Waqar Ahmed Usmani, while Qari Muhammad Abdullah Salik, Qari Muhammad Hussain Sialvi and Maulana Saifullah Khalid monitored the proceedings.
Mumtaz Arif Qadri, Azhar Abbas Chishti and Qari Muhammad Nawaz performed duties as judges.
The arrangements for the competition were made by Haji Muhammad.
In Category-II for female Naat reciters under 15, Fatimat-ul-Zahra,D/o Abdul Ghaffar, won first position, while Musafra Imran, daughter of Muhammad Imran, and Priya Nair, daughter of Malik Muhammad Shahid, secured second and third positions respectively.
In Category-III for male Naat reciters aged 15 to 25, Ghulam Ahmad Raza, son of Muhammad Iqbal, stood first, followed by Hammad Ali, son of Akhtar Hussain, and Muhammad Zahid Ali, s/o Muhammad Hassan, at second and third positions.
In Category-IV for female Naat reciters aged 15 to 25, Nimra Iqbal, daughter of Muhammad Iqbal, secured first position, while Zunaira Ashraf, daughter of Muhammad Ashraf, and Khadija Bibi, daughter of Rashid Qamar, secured second and third positions respectively.
At the conclusion of the competition, certificates of appreciation and prizes were distributed among the participants securing first, second and third positions.
The winners securing first position in each category would represent Sargodha at the provincial Naat recitation competition scheduled to be held in Lahore on August 16, 2026.
