Attacker killed in retaliatory fire after firing at security forces patrol

RAWALPINDI, Aug 11 (APP):A man was killed in retaliatory fire after he allegedly opened fire on a security forces patrol with a pistol in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.
According to a Rawalpindi Police spokesperson, the incident occurred at around 11:15 a.m. when Muhammad Hussain, son of Muhammad Baaz, who belonged to a particular political party, allegedly opened fire on the patrol team, injuring one officer.
The attacker was killed when security personnel returned fire, the spokesperson said.
He added that further evidence and links had emerged from the mobile phone and other belongings recovered from the deceased, while further investigation was under way.
The spokesperson said law enforcement agencies remained fully prepared and would continue efforts to eliminate terrorism and incitement
