European Parliament’s member meets Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar

ISLAMABAD, Aug 11 (APP):Member of the European Parliament (MEP), Ondrej Dostál on Tuesday called on Federal Minister for Law, Justice and Human Rights, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar at the Ministry of Law, Justice and Human Rights.
During the meeting, held here in a cordial atmosphere, the two sides discussed Pakistan-EU relations, matters of mutual interest, promotion of democratic values, parliamentary engagement, and issues relating to law, justice and human rights said a news release.
They emphasized the importance of further strengthening positive and constructive Pakistan-EU relations and enhancing parliamentary engagement between the two sides.
Senator Tarar said Pakistan attached great importance to democratic values, the constitutional system, rule of law and protection of human rights. He emphasized that strong democratic institutions and effective parliamentary engagement played an important role in promoting cooperation at both national and international levels.
Both sides reaffirmed democratic values, rule of law and protection of human rights as shared priorities and agreed to further strengthen mutual cooperation and engagement. MEP Ondrej Dostál appreciated the Federal Minister’s efforts and initiatives in the areas of constitutional and legal affairs.
Minister of State for Law, Justice and Human Rights, Barrister Aqeel Malik was also present during the meeting.
