FAISALABAD, Aug 11 (APP):Faisalabad is taking on a festive national hue ahead of Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day (ID) as the Deputy Commissioner’s Office was illuminated in vibrant green and white lights as part of ID preparations to celebrate the occasion with renewed patriotic spirit and national fervor.
A spokesman of local administration said here on Tuesday that the district administration has stepped up preparations for Independence Day celebrations across the city on the directions of Deputy Commissioner 9DC) Muhammad Nauman Siddique.
He said that the Deputy Commissioner’s Office has been decorated with colorful electric lights while the government building has been illuminated in green and white, reflecting the national colors and adding to the festive atmosphere ahead of August 14, 2026.
He said that arrangements were also underway to decorate the city with national flags and green-white buntings while various other activities were being planned to mark Independence Day in a befitting manner.
He said that special activities aimed at promoting patriotism and highlighting the spirit of national unity are being arranged for citizens to provide families and residents an opportunity to participate in the celebrations and express their love for the country.
He said that the decoration of government buildings and prominent locations in national colors is part of the district administration’s efforts to create a festive atmosphere while reinforcing the message of national solidarity, unity and commitment to Pakistan.
He said that the people were also appealed to celebrate Independence Day with national dignity, discipline and a sense of responsibility while ensuring due respect for the national flag and other national symbols.
The celebrations are expected to add a distinct patriotic color to the city as public and government spaces are being prepared to welcome the national day, he added.
