SPAL continues uninterrupted sanitation operations amid rain
LAHORE, Aug 08 (APP): The Suthra Punjab Agency Lahore’s sanitation teams remained active in the field despite intermittent rainfall in different parts of the city under the Punjab chief minister’s Suthra Punjab vision.
On the directives of the Lahore Waste Management Company CEO Sheryar Arif Khan, waste clearance and sanitation operations continued across the city without interruption.
In view of the ongoing monsoon rains, field teams were deployed during and after rainfall to ensure prompt drainage and keep the water disposal system functional.
Sanitation staff remained alert to ensure timely waste clearance on all major roads.
SPAL teams also continued drainage operations at low-lying areas and other areas to prevent the accumulation of rainwater.
Special sanitation arrangements were made on Jail Road, The Mall, Data Darbar, Circular Road, Aik Moriya Pul, Do Moriya Pul and McLeod Road.
Teams were also deployed at Lakshmi Chowk, Shadman Market, Gulberg, Barkat Market, Aiwan-e-Tijarat, Beadon Road Bazaar and Temple Road. Meanwhile, more than 7,000 waste containers installed across the city were cleared as part of routine operations. Door-to-door waste collection through loader rickshaws also continued during the rainfall.
