HYDERABAD, Aug 08 (APP): An edible oil manufacturing unit which was sealed some time ago for violating the food laws by preparing oil from discarded chicken waste secretly restarted functioning in the SITE area Hyderabad.
Assistant Commissioner Latifabad taluka disclosed this here on Saturday after visiting the factory in question along with the officials of Sindh Food Authority (SFA).
“During the inspection, it was observed that the factory had been desealed by its workers despite having previously been sealed by the SFA,” the AC said in a statement.
The AC apprised that contaminated cooking oil being processed at the premises was discarded by the officials of the SFA in accordance with the prescribed procedure.
The inspection team accordingly documented the findings and ensured that the contaminated material was removed and disposed of in accordance with the applicable procedure, the AC added.
