The Islamabad chapter of Alif Educational Alliance, a platform of noted scholars, academicians and educationists striving for educational excellence in Pakistan, was launched here on Saturday, following the launch of its Karachi chapter a fortnight ago.

ISLAMABAD, Aug 8 (APP): The Islamabad chapter of Alif Educational Alliance, a platform of noted scholars, academicians and educationists striving for educational excellence in Pakistan, was launched here on Saturday, following the launch of its Karachi chapter a fortnight ago.
Alif has been launched for bonding all Pakistani schools for sharing and learning from their experiences and resources, for the purpose of achieving educational excellence in the country.
The ceremony was held at Riphah Uniersity I-14 campus. Dr Atif Iqbal of Al Huda International presented the welcome address. Shaykh Jahangir Mahmud, Gen Secretary and Executive Editor of ‘Society for Educational Research’, a think-tank for the enhancement of Education, delivered the keynoted address. He highlighted the relevance and importance of cooperation among the schools for raising educational standards.
Mufti Atif Karamat, an Islamic scholar, and founder of multiple non-profit organizations like Shariah compliance services provider, Naafay, teachers training institute Ustaaz, and Tilmeez, highlighted the impacts of identity crisis of Muslim educationists the challenges they faced in the modern world.
Hashir Zuberi, CEO Unity International School, explained the purpose and need of Alif Educational Alliance. Mr Zofran Ilahi, President of Private Schools Association of Islamabad(PSAI), highlighted the importance of teachers training and development for improve educational standards and teaching.
Ms. Sarah Magrabi highlighted the role of women in Alif and stressed the need for greater coordination among the teachers for educational excellence.
During the Breakaway session, Dr. Atif Iqbal talked about the importance of educational leadership for improving quality education.
During the open session, the participants expressed satisfaction over the launching of Alif, terming it the need of the hour and expressed hope that it would prove to be a great source of learning for teachers and educationists.
