Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Saturday, presiding over a meeting with prominent ulema from different schools of thought and senior government officers, reviewed arrangements for 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal, directing all concerned departments to ensure foolproof security, uninterrupted civic services, cleanliness and smooth conduct of Milad processions and religious gatherings across the province.

KARACHI, Aug 08 (APP): Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Saturday, presiding over a meeting with prominent ulema from different schools of thought and senior government officers, reviewed arrangements for 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal, directing all concerned departments to ensure foolproof security, uninterrupted civic services, cleanliness and smooth conduct of Milad processions and religious gatherings across the province.
The meeting was attended by Senior Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon, Local Government Minister Nasir Shah, Minister Home Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, Minister for Religious Affairs Riaz Shah Shirazi, Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab, Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Agha Wasif Abbas, Additional Chief Secretary Home Iqbal Memon, Secretary Local Government Waseem Shamshad, Inspector General of Police Javed Alam Odho, Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi, Additional IG Karachi Azad Khan, DIG Traffic Pir Muhammad Shah, CEO Water Corporation Ahmed Ali Siddiqui, Managing Director Sindh Solid Waste Management Board Fuad Ghaffar Soomro, representatives of K-Electric and SSGC, as well as divisional commissioners and DIGs through video link.
Prominent Ulema representing various schools of thought, including Haji Haneef Tayab, Mufti Razzaq Yaqoob Attari, Allama Shah Abdul Haq Qadri, Mufti Nazeer Jan Naeemi, Haji Rafiq Pardasi, Molana Muhammad Akbar Dars, Allama Liaquat Hussain Al-Azhari, Molana Qazi Ahmed Noorani, Allama Dr Jameel Rathore, Allama Muzaffar Hussain Shah, Sahibzada Rehan Amjadi Nomani, Sarwat Ejaz Qadri, Mufti Muhammad Qasim, Shahid Ghori, Atif Haneef Billo, Allama Shah Owais Noorani, Molana Kokab Noorani Okarwi, Allama Ashraf Gormani, Mufti Abid Mubarak, Molana Syed Azhar Ail Shah Hamdani and others, also participated in the meeting and presented their suggestions regarding security, civic facilities, sanitation, traffic management and public convenience during the observance of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH).
The chief minister listened to the views and recommendations of the religious scholars in detail and directed all departments concerned to address their concerns on a priority basis.
“Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) is a sacred occasion celebrated with deep reverence and devotion. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that devotees can participate in religious activities in a peaceful, secure and clean environment,” Murad Ali Shah said.
He directed K-Electric, SSGC, the Water Corporation, and other utility service providers to ensure uninterrupted electricity, gas, and water supply in areas where mosques, processions, and Milad gatherings would be held.
“There should be no disruption in essential services in the vicinity of mosques, imambargahs, procession routes and venues of religious congregations. All utility agencies must remain fully alert and responsive,” the chief minister said.
Murad Ali Shah also instructed the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), municipal committees, district administrations, local government institutions and the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board to launch special cleanliness drives before and during 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal.
“Cleanliness is an integral part of our faith. The routes of processions, surrounding neighbourhoods and public spaces must be kept neat and clean. Any issues related to drainage and sewerage should be resolved well before the celebrations,” he directed.
The chief minister ordered local government authorities across Sindh to identify and rectify damaged roads, blocked drains, overflowing sewerage lines and other civic issues that could cause inconvenience to the public during the celebrations.
On security arrangements, Murad Ali Shah directed the police, Rangers and district administrations to ensure comprehensive security measures for all processions, gatherings and religious events.
“The safety of participants is our foremost priority. A coordinated security plan must be implemented with close monitoring and effective deployment of law-enforcement personnel,” he said.
The IG Police and other officials briefed the meeting on the proposed security plan, traffic management arrangements and coordination mechanisms being put in place for the occasion.
The chief minister emphasised the importance of inter-sect harmony and religious tolerance, appreciating the constructive role of Ulema from all schools of thought in promoting peace and unity.
“Our strength lies in our unity. The message of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) is one of peace, compassion, tolerance and brotherhood. We must uphold these values and celebrate this blessed occasion with dignity and harmony,” he said.
Concluding the meeting, Murad Ali Shah directed all divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, police officers and local government institutions to remain in close coordination and ensure that all arrangements are completed well before 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal. He also instructed officials to maintain continuous monitoring and promptly address any issues reported by organisers and the public.
