KOHAT, Aug 7 (APP): Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Local Government and Higher Education, Meena Khan Afridi, along with Minister for Information and Public Relations, Shafi Jan, formally inaugurated the Women Business Development Center (WBDC) built at a cost of Rs 338.053 million in Kohat on Friday.
The center aims to economically empower women by offering them technical, entrepreneurial, and digital skills training, while assisting them in accessing broader business opportunities.
Addressing the gathering, Meena Khan highlighted that sustainable progress is unattainable without the economic participation of women, who constitute 52 percent of the country’s population.
He noted that the center will train hundreds of women annually in management, digital technology, and vocational skills to help them establish independent livelihoods and boost the local economy.
Minister Shafi Jan added that empowering women economically remains a core priority of the provincial administration, describing the center as a key step toward translating that vision into reality.
