The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration at Islamabad International Airport foiled an attempt by a passenger to travel to Spain on a fake French Schengen visa, offloading him during secondary profiling.

ISLAMABAD, Aug 06 (APP): The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration at Islamabad International Airport foiled an attempt by a passenger to travel to Spain on a fake French Schengen visa, offloading him during secondary profiling.
An FIA official told APP on Thursday that the passenger was intercepted while attempting to travel to Spain aboard flight QR-615.
The official said a detailed examination of his travel documents revealed that the French Schengen visa sticker affixed to page 15 of his passport was suspicious.
During preliminary questioning, the passenger disclosed that he had obtained the fake visa sticker through his friend, identified as Shamoon, in Saudi Arabia. He had initially paid 550 Saudi riyals for the arrangement and was supposed to pay another 45,000 Saudi riyals after reaching his destination.
The official said examination of the passenger’s mobile phone further revealed that he had been in contact via WhatsApp with a person identified as Ghulam Shabbir regarding clearance of a European visa.
The passenger was offloaded and handed over to the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC), Islamabad, for further legal action.
Further investigation is underway.
