Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday departed for Saudi Arabia on the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to meet the country’s leadership and discuss bilateral relations and regional developments.

ISLAMABAD, Aug 6 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday departed for Saudi Arabia on the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to meet the country’s leadership and discuss bilateral relations and regional developments.
The prime minister is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Federal Ministers Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi.
During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will meet Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The meeting will focus on further strengthening the longstanding fraternal relations and strategic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, as well as exchanging views on the regional situation.
During his stay in the Kingdom, the Prime Minister will perform Umrah and visit Madinah Munawara to pay his respects at the Roza-e-Rasool (Peace Be Upon Him).
The prime minister’s visit reflects the decades-long fraternal ties, mutual trust, and close brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, a press release issued by the PM Office said.
Taking place against the backdrop of the short-term implications of the evolving regional situation, the visit is expected to further expand strategic cooperation, strengthen bilateral relations, and enhance coordination and collaboration on regional and international issues between the two countries.
