SANGLA, Aug 6 (APP):The Municipal Committee in Sangla Hill has launched a grand operation against dilapidated and structurally unsafe buildings on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Nankana Sahib Rana Hameed, officials said on Thursday.
The operation, carried out by the Municipal Committee’s Building Department, resulted in the sealing of several dangerous shops, while owners of a number of unsafe buildings were served notices directing them to undertake immediate repairs.
The drive was supervised by Assistant Commissioner Sangla Hill Osama Amanat, Municipal Committee Chief Officer Rehman Latif and the Planning Officer. Special building inspection teams conducted a detailed survey of commercial and residential areas across the city to identify structures deemed unsafe or at risk of collapse.
Authorities said owners of deteriorating buildings had been instructed to repair or reconstruct their properties without delay. Buildings and shops posing an immediate threat to public safety were sealed as part of the operation.
Officials warned that strict legal action would be taken against owners who fail to complete the required repairs or rehabilitation work within the stipulated timeframe.
