FUUAST VC reaffirms solidarity with Kashmiris on Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir

Vice Chancellor of the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST), Prof Dr Zabta Khan Shinwari, on Wednesday reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the occasion of Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir.

KARACHI, Aug 05 (APP): Vice Chancellor of the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST), Prof Dr Zabta Khan Shinwari, on Wednesday reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the occasion of Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir.
In a special message on Wednesday, the vice chancellor said Pakistan stood firmly with its Kashmiri brothers and sisters and reiterated the country’s longstanding support for their cause.
He said the developments of August 5, 2019, had further complicated the Kashmir dispute, adding that Pakistan rejected those measures.
Prof Shinwari said the people of Jammu and Kashmir had been striving for decades to secure their right to self-determination, freedom and fundamental human rights.
He reiterated Pakistan’s position that the Jammu and Kashmir dispute should be resolved in accordance with the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
The vice chancellor said FUUAST reaffirmed its moral, humanitarian and principled support for the people of Kashmir.
He urged the international community, the United Nations and international human rights organisations to pay attention to the situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and play an effective role in promoting peace, justice and human dignity in the region.
Prof Shinwari said the people of Pakistan would continue to stand by the Kashmiris and extend political, diplomatic and moral support to what he described as their just struggle.
He added that lasting peace in South Asia was linked to a peaceful and just resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.
