Energy summit 2026 held at Mehran University

HYDERABAD, Aug 05 (APP):The Technical Symposium and Energy Summit 2026 was organized by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) at Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro.
Addressing the event, Vice Chancellor Mehran University, Prof. Dr. Taha Hussain Ali said that industrial institutions and universities should further strengthen their cooperation to promote research, innovation and innovations.
He said that the Department of Petroleum and Natural Gas of Mehran University can work effectively with Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) on joint research projects.
He added that Mehran University has highly qualified researchers and experts who can play an effective role for industrial institutions through new research, technology and innovations.
Masood Sarwar representative of the Managing Director of Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), said in his address that the protection of employees, contractors, environment and local communities is the top priority of the company.
He said that new energy reserves have been discovered in the Shah Bandar area in the recent past, while the company is striving to find and use energy resources in sustainable ways.
He said that the welfare of the local population and providing them with basic amenities are also among the company’s top priorities.
The symposium and energy summit were also attended by Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Khanji Harijan, Chairman of the Department of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Prof. Dr. Aftab Mahesar, representatives of Sui Southern Gas Company, Mari Gas Company and other industrial institutions.
