FAISALABAD, Aug 05 (APP): The Crime Control Department (CCD) Punjab has reported a significant decline in serious crime during the current year as overall major offences fell down by 51 per cent in Faisalabad region.
According to the CCD official, the department delivered notable results through intelligence-based operations and continued action against criminals in Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh and Chiniot.
He said that murder cases witnessed 83 per cent decline compared to the previous year while incidents of dacoity dropped by 78 per cent and robbery cases decreased by 58 per cent.
The cases involving murder during dacoity also fell by 32 per cent whereas incidents in which victims were injured during dacoity registered a considerable reduction.
He said that the cases of rape committed during dacoity declined by 37 per cent while motorcycle snatching and motorcycle theft cases decreased by 57 per cent, vehicle snatching by 51 per cent, vehicle theft by 71 per cent, car snatching by 40 per cent and burglary by 50 per cent during this period.
He also highlighted the sacrifices made by CCD personnel in the fight against crime and said that 61 officers and officials sustained injuries during operations against criminal elements during past year.
