The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) turned around to a bullish trend on Wednesday, gaining 2,931.71 points, a positive change of 1.66 percent, to close at 180,014.93 points against 177,083.22 points recorded in the previous trading session.
PSX turns bullish, gains over 2,931 points

ISLAMABAD, Aug 5 (APP): The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) turned around to a bullish trend on Wednesday, gaining 2,931.71 points, a positive change of 1.66 percent, to close at 180,014.93 points against 177,083.22 points recorded in the previous trading session.
The ready market witnessed a trading volume of 740.558 million shares, compared to 711.271 million shares traded in the previous session, while the traded value expanded sharply to Rs 35.907 billion from Rs 25.874 billion. Market capitalisation increased to Rs 20.090 trillion from Rs 19.833 trillion recorded a day earlier.
Out of 496 companies that traded in the ready market, 303 posted gains, 158 suffered losses, while 35 remained unchanged, reflecting an overall bullish momentum across the bourse.
Trust Brokerage led the volume chart with 52.879 million shares, followed by WorldCall Telecom with 42.520 million shares and Cnergyico PK with 40.200 million shares.
Among the top gainers in the ready market, PIA Holding Company LimitedB advanced by Rs 336.00 to close at Rs 17,896.00, while The Thal Industries Corporation Limited gained Rs 121.67 to settle at Rs 1,408.39.
On the losing side, Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited declined by Rs 86.00 to close at Rs 25,300.00, while Khyber Textile Mills Limited fell by Rs 59.78 to Rs 1,981.32.
In the futures (DFC) market, turnover stood at 232.396 million shares with a traded value of Rs 9.337 billion, compared with 150.834 million shares worth Rs 5.894 billion in the previous session.
Of the 315 companies traded in the futures market, 266 advanced, 41 declined, and eight remained unchanged.
