PHA takes special measures to beautify Hilal Park, Nursery in Al-Furqan Sector

RAWALPINDI, Aug 05 (APP): The Rawalpindi Horticulture Agency (PHA) has launched special measures for the beautification, landscaping, plantation and maintenance of Hilal Park and its adjoining nursery in Al-Furqan Sector to provide citizens with a clean, healthy and environmentally friendly recreational space.

According to a PHA spokesman, the initiative is being carried out on the directives of Managing Director Ahmed Hassan Ranjha as part of the agency’s efforts to make Rawalpindi greener and more beautiful.

The spokesman said seasonal flowers, ornamental plants, shade trees and indigenous species were being planted across the park, while regular lawn mowing, irrigation, fertilization, cleanliness and other horticultural activities were being conducted in line with modern landscaping practices.

He said special attention was also being given to the nursery to produce healthy and quality plants for parks, green belts and roadsides across the city.

Ahmed Hassan Ranjha said the importance of trees and green spaces had increased significantly due to climate change, adding that the PHA was promoting tree plantation campaigns and creating public awareness about environmental protection to encourage citizens to participate in plantation drives.

He said efforts were also underway to improve lighting, flower beds, walking tracks and green areas at Hilal Park to make it a safe, attractive and peaceful recreational destination for families, children, senior citizens and youth.

The managing director said the development work at Hilal Park and Al-Furqan Sector was part of the PHA’s broader plan to rehabilitate parks, green belts and recreational facilities across Rawalpindi and promote a greener and more environmentally sustainable city.
