ISLAMABAD, Aug 05 (APP): Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, Wednesday, exchanged views on regional developments, particularly the deteriorating situation in the Occupied West Bank. DPM/FM Dar appreciated Jordan’s steadfast role in safeguarding the Islamic and Christian Holy Sites in Jerusalem and its continued support for the Palestinian people.
The DPM/FM met with the Jordanian counterpart on the sidelines of the Ministerial Meeting on Jerusalem in Amman, the Foreign Office Spokesperson said in a press release.
The two leaders also discussed the regional situation, including recent developments relating to Iran and the United States, and underscored the importance of dialogue and diplomacy for de-escalation.
They welcomed the growing momentum in Pakistan–Jordan bilateral relations and reaffirmed to further enhancing cooperation across political, defence, economic, educational, cultural and people-to-people domains.
They reaffirmed close coordination at the bilateral and multilateral levels, including at the UN and the OIC, to promote regional peace and stability.
Separately, Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar joined fellow Foreign Ministers from the Arab League and the Group of Muslim Countries for the official group photo at the Ministerial Meeting on Jerusalem in Amman.
