Pakistan beat South Korea 4-3 in third test of Hockey Series
ISLAMABAD, Aug 04 (APP):Pakistan’s national hockey team staged a brilliant comeback to defeat South Korea by 4-3 in the third match of the ongoing Pakistan-Korea Test Series here at the Naseer Bunda Hockey Stadium on Tuesday.
Federal Ombusman Naveed Kamran Baloch was the chief guest of the match and watched the thrilling contest from the stadium.
He lauded the performance of players from both teams.
At the closing ceremony, PHF President Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani presented a commemorative shield to the chief guest. Also present, on the occasion, were PHF Development Committee Chairman Olympian Hassan Sardar, PHF Selection Committee Chairman Olympian Samiullah Khan, and DG Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Yawar Hussain.
In a closely contested match, Pakistan overcame an early deficit to secure victory. South Korea started aggressively and took a 1-0 lead at the end of the first half. However, Pakistan came back strongly in the second half with a series of goals to clinch the match 4-3.
Goal Scorers for Pakistan were Hayat Zakriya 32 min (Field Goal), Rana Waheed Ashraf 45 min (Field Goal), Abdul Rehman 55 min (Field Goal), Shahid Hannan 57 min (Field Goal).
South Korea scored through Kim Hyung Jin 10 min (Penalty Corner), Jang Ji Hun 33 min (Penalty Corner), Kim Yong 50 min (Field Goal).
The match was supervised by umpires Fahad Ali Khan and Haroon Rasheed. Muhammad Sajid Raza was the reserve umpire, while Haroon Asad Abbas served as the video umpire.
Other officials included: Scoring Judge Adnan Shahzad, Timing Judge Mehboob Javed, Technical Officer Muhammad Waqas Khan, Technical Delegate Muhammad Shafiq, Umpires Manager Faiz Muhammad Faizi, Media Coordinator Muhammad Waqas Sheikh, PHF Camp Coordinator Abdul Nasir Akhunzada, and Chief Coordinator & Operations Najeeb Khattak.
