DPM to attend ministerial meeting on Jerusalem in Jordan

ISLAMABAD, Aug 4 (APP):Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister (DPM/FM), Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar will undertake a visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to attend the Ministerial Meeting on Jerusalem to be held on Wednesday, on the invitation extended by Deputy Prime Minister/Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan, Ayman Al Safadi.
The meeting will bring together the Foreign Ministers from the Arab League and a group of Islamic countries, including Pakistan, with the aim of formulating a unified position on fast-deterioration of situation in the occupied Jerusalem, a DPM’s Office news release said.
The attending Foreign Ministers will also call on King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Abdullah-II ibn Al Hussein during the visit.
The deputy prime minister would also hold side-line bilateral meetings with the participating Foreign Ministers to exchange views on regional developments including Palestine, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
DPM/FM Dar’s participation in the Ministerial Meeting on Jerusalem is a manifestation of Pakistan’s principled support for the Palestinian people and unwavering commitment to the establishment of an independent, sovereign and contiguous State of Palestine, based on the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
