Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani honored with Global Hindu Award 2026 in Canada

ISLAMABAD, Aug 4 (APP):Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, a prominent senior parliamentarian and Patron-in-Chief of the Pakistan Hindu Council, has been conferred the prestigious Global Hindu Award 2026 during the colorful Dhanteras Gala 2026 ceremony held in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Being the only Pakistani citizen, Dr. Ramesh Vankwani was awarded in recognition of his fearless advocacy for minority rights, interfaith harmony, and global humanitarian service, said a press release issued here.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney acknowledged the remarkable contributions of the Hindu community to Canada’s social, cultural, and economic development. According to Alberta Premier Danielle Smith, Leader of the Opposition Pierre Poilievre, and the Premiers of Ontario and Saskatchewan, the positive role of Hindu community in various walks of life is remarkable.

The gala brought together Mayor Jeromy Farkas of Calgary, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Alberta Mickey Amer, political leaders, diplomats, business leaders, community representatives, and distinguished guests from across Canada and abroad to celebrate Hindu heritage, culture, and community achievements.

Dr. Vankwani, expressing his gratitude, dedicated the award to the Hindu community of Pakistan and to all those who have supported his lifelong mission of serving humanity selflessly. “This award is not merely a personal honor but a recognition of the resilience, peaceful values, and positive contributions of the Hindu community of Pakistan,” he stated, emphasizing, “The achievement strengthens my belief to continue serving humanity in accordance with the timeless Hindu Vedic values of Seva (selfless service to everyone), Karma (good actions always bear positive fruits), and Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the whole world is one family).”

Dr. Vankwani also highlighted Pakistan’s immense significance in the spiritual Hindu civilization, noting that the country was home to some of the world’s most revered Hindu pilgrimage sites. On the occasion, he invited the distinguished participants to visit sacred places such as Hinglaj Mata Mandir, Katas Raj Temples, Teri Temple, Prahlad Mandir in Multan, and many other holy sites of worship that have preserved the rich heritage for centuries.

“Pilgrimage to such sacred destinations would prove to be a spiritual homecoming and a remarkable opportunity to reconnect with ancient civilizational roots, experience Pakistan’s rich religious diversity, and strengthen the bonds of friendship, mutual respect, and peace among people of all faiths,” he emphasized.

While highlighting various humanitarian initiatives going on under the platform of Pakistan Hindu Council and the Prem Nagar, a model welfare village comprising 150 acres being constructed at his native hometown Islamkot, Tharparkar. Dr. Vankwani said the recognition inspired him to continue working for minority rights, interfaith harmony, social justice, and humanitarian welfare in Pakistan and around the world.

In his address, Dr. Ramesh Vankwani also congratulated the Canadian Hindu Chamber of Commerce for organizing a magnificent celebration of Hindu heritage and values while recognizing individuals across the globe who have made exceptional contributions to public service, philanthropy, and community leadership.
