Rwanda’s High Commissioner Harimana Fatou ,invites Pakistani investors to explore business opportunities in Rwanda

ISLAMABAD, Aug 04 (APP):Rwanda’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, Harimana Fatou, visited the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) President Secretariat in Islamabad, where she held a meeting with FPCCI President Atif Ikram Sheikh and senior business leaders of the country.

The two sides discussed a wide range of issues aimed at strengthening bilateral economic relations, with a particular focus on trade, investment, industrial cooperation, and enhancing private-sector engagement between Pakistan and Rwanda.

During the meeting, both leaders agreed that expanding economic cooperation requires stronger institutional and business-to-business linkages.

They emphasized that closer collaboration between the private sectors of the two countries would not only boost bilateral trade but also create new opportunities for investment, industrial partnerships, and sustainable economic growth.

Speaking on the occasion, High Commissioner Harimana Fatou invited the Pakistani business community to explore investment opportunities in Rwanda, assuring them that her country is committed to providing a transparent, secure, and investor-friendly business environment.

Harimana Fatou briefed participants on Rwanda’s investment incentives, business facilitation measures, and regulatory reforms designed to attract foreign investors and promote long-term economic partnerships.

The High Commissioner also highlighted the initiatives undertaken by Rwanda to strengthen bilateral trade with Pakistan and encouraged Pakistani entrepreneurs to take advantage of the opportunities available in the East African nation.

The envoy expressed confidence that enhanced economic engagement between Pakistan and Rwanda would contribute not only to increased bilateral trade but also to regional economic development, job creation, and shared prosperity.

While addressing the meeting, FPCCI President Atif Ikram Sheikh described Rwanda as an important partner under Pakistan’s “Look Africa Policy” for economic and trade cooperation.

Atif stressed that direct access to African markets has become increasingly important for Pakistani exporters, adding that Rwanda, with its strategic location and business-friendly environment, could serve as a key gateway for Pakistani products and exports across the African continent.

He also praised Rwanda’s remarkable economic transformation over the past several years, describing it as a model of successful leadership, sound governance, and effective economic reforms.

According to Sheikh, Rwanda’s development offers valuable lessons for developing economies, and closer cooperation between the two countries could unlock significant commercial potential.

The FPCCI President highlighted the importance of increasing interactions between the private sectors through trade delegations, business forums, and joint investment initiatives.

He noted that Pakistan and Rwanda have substantial opportunities for collaboration in agriculture, pharmaceuticals, textiles, information technology, engineering, and food processing. He reaffirmed FPCCI’s commitment to working closely with Rwandan institutions to facilitate business partnerships and explore new avenues for trade and investment.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening commercial and economic ties by promoting stronger business-to-business connections, encouraging investment, and facilitating greater cooperation between the private sectors.

Both sides expressed optimism that sustained collaboration would elevate Pakistan-Rwanda relations to a new level and open fresh opportunities for businesses in both countries.
