Toyota Motor Corp. said Tuesday it posted a net profit of 1.48 trillion yen ($9.4 billion) in the three months through June, up 75.6 percent from a year earlier, partly helped by a weaker yen.

TOKYO , Aug 4 (KYODO/APP):Toyota Motor Corp. said Tuesday it posted a net profit of 1.48 trillion yen ($9.4 billion) in the three months through June, up 75.6 percent from a year earlier, partly helped by a weaker yen.
The world’s largest automaker by volume reported an operating profit of 1.06 trillion yen in the April-June period, down 8.8 percent from the previous year, while sales rose 10.4 percent to 13.53 trillion yen.
For the current business year through next March, the automaker lifted its net profit outlook to 3.25 trillion yen from its previous estimate of 3 trillion yen.
