Health Ministry setup free Hepatitis C screening camp for mourners at G-6/2 Imambargah

ISLAMABAD, Aug 03 (APP):On the instructions of Federal Minister Mustafa Kamal, a free Hepatitis C screening camp is underway for mourners at Imambargah G-6/2, here, aiming to provide free screening, medical guidance, and awareness about Hepatitis C prevention in the camp to mourners.
According to the Ministry of Health spokesperson on Monday, National Program Project Director Dr Zia Dawar was supervising the screening camp.
He added that individuals who test positive during the screening will be referred to the relevant centres of the National Hepatitis C Elimination Programme for free treatment.
Minister for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Syed Mustafa Kamal urged the public to take advantage of this program and get screened to make Pakistan Hepatitis C-free.
He added that timely diagnosis and effective treatment are the only options to complete the eradication of Hepatitis C.
“A Hepatitis C-free Pakistan is our mission,” he said.
He underscored the importance of the program and called upon the public, civil society, media, and every citizen to play their role for the success of this program.
