PESHAWAR, Aug 03 (APP):KP Minister for Public Health Engineering (PHE), Fazal Shakoor Khan has said that an important tube well solarization project is being implemented under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in the province.
In the first phase of the project, he said100 solarization schemes have been approved, out of which 10 have already been successfully completed.
He was addressing a Khuli Kachehri during his visit to district Swabi on Monday. The event was attended by a large number of local residents, community elders, social personalities, and officials of the PHE department.
The provincial minister informed that 700 additional tube wells are included in the next phase of the solarization programme while KP government has already allocated its share of funding for the project, the release of foreign funding has experienced some delay, which has affected the pace of implementation.
The PHED Minister assured the participants that the incumbent KP government is actively pursuing the matter to ensure the timely release of the foreign funds.
“As soon as the funds are made available, work on all remaining schemes will be accelerated and completed in accordance with the prescribed standards to provide affordable, sustainable, and uninterrupted drinking water services to the people,” Fazal Shakoor Khan said.
