LAHORE, Aug 03 (APP):Punjab Home Department has finalized foolproof security arrangements across the province for the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and sought the deployment of Pakistan Army and Rangers personnel to assist police in maintaining law and order.
According to the spokesperson, a total of 869 majalis (religious gatherings) and 494 processions would be held across Punjab on the occasion of Chehlum.
The spokesperson said that Pakistan Army and Rangers personnel would assist the Punjab Police in ensuring peaceful observance of the Chehlum and the annual Urs of Hazrat Syed Ali bin Usman Hajveri (RA). A request for the deployment of security forces was sent to the Ministry of Interior on the recommendation of the Punjab Police.
The spokesperson said that the services of 43 companies of the Pakistan Army and Rangers had been sought for 18 districts of the province, including 15 Army companies and 28 Rangers companies.
According to the spokesperson, Army and Rangers personnel would be deployed in Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Sargodha, Khushab, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Faisalabad, Jhang, Pakpattan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan.
The spokesperson said that all law enforcement agencies would work in close coordination to ensure the peaceful and secure observance of the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and the Urs of Hazrat Syed Ali bin Usman Hajveri (RA).
