Commissioner, RPO review security arrangements for AJK elections in Chakwal
RAWALPINDI, Aug 02 (APP):Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Salman Ghani and Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Region Babar Sarfraz Alpa visited Chakwal district and reviewed the security and administrative arrangements made for the peaceful, free, transparent and fair conduct of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly elections on refugee seats.
During the visit, Deputy Commissioner Chakwal and District Police Officer (DPO) Chakwal briefed the officials in detail about the election security plan, deployment of police personnel, sensitive polling stations, monitoring arrangements and other administrative measures taken across the district.
The commissioner and RPO also visited various polling stations, where they inspected the duties of police officers and personnel, security arrangements, checking procedures and facilities being provided to voters.
Expressing satisfaction over the arrangements, they directed the concerned officers to ensure the maintenance of law and order during polling, strict implementation of the election code of conduct, and provision of a safe and peaceful environment for citizens to exercise their right to vote without any fear.
The officials appreciated the effective coordination and cooperation among the police, district administration and other relevant departments.
They directed all institutions to continue security and administrative measures with full vigilance, impartiality, professionalism and responsibility until the completion of the electoral process.
Chakwal Police said that all available resources were being utilized to ensure the peaceful, transparent and secure conduct of the AJK Legislative Assembly elections, enabling citizens to exercise their democratic right with confidence.
