Balmik Hindu Community’s consultation elects Haroon Sarab Diyal as provincial president
PESHAWAR, Aug 02 (APP):In a landmark display of unity and democratic consultation, the All Balmik Hindu Community Khyber Pakhtunkhwa convened a Provincial Consultative Session to address the pressing socio-legal challenges and to elect new provincial leadership committed to rights, dignity, and development.
According to a press release issued here on Sunday, the session brought together key stakeholders and representatives from all districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Sarpanchs, Presidents of Balmik Sabhas, Pandits and Religious Scholars, Hindu Lawyers, Social Workers, Government Officials, Academicians, Teachers, Business Leaders, and Youth Representatives.
Following a day-long deliberation focused on constitutional protections, legal reforms, social inclusion, and community welfare, the assembly unanimously elected Haroon Sarab Diyal as the Provincial President of the All Balmik Hindu Community Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Mr. Diyal is widely recognized for his international advocacy on human rights, interfaith harmony, and constitutional protections for minorities.
He is also a Founder Member of the Pakistan Council of World Religions – PCWR, a leading voice in the National Lobbying Delegation for Minority Right and Member Pakistan Hindu Madir Management Committee Ministry of Religious Affairs Government of Pakistan
In adherence to centuries-old religious and cultural traditions, Mr. Diyal was honored with Tilak, floral garlands by Pandits and religious leaders, and a traditional Pashtun Pagri. Bhajans were recited and prayers offered for peace, equality, and the prosperity of all citizens of Pakistan.
Subsequently, the newly elected President paid courtesy visits to community elders in Kohat to seek their blessings and guidance.
Addressing the gathering, Haroon Sarab Diyal stated he accept this responsibility with humility and resolve.
He announced an immediate Province-Wide Outreach and Cabinet Formation Campaign with a specific focus on identifying and empowering educated young professionals to lead at district and provincial levels.
His goals including facilitating access to birth registration, marriage registration, CNICs, and inheritance rights.
Engaging with the government, parliamentarians, National Commission for Human Rights and International Human Rights Bodies for legislative and policy reforms. Promoting interfaith dialogue and countering hate narratives through education and media.
The Balmik Hindu Community Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has called upon Provincial Government to ensure implementation of Article 9,10,20, 25,27 and 36 of the Constitution of Pakistan.
