PMDC approves increase in MBBS seats from 100 to 150 for Gomal Medical College

Dera Ismail Khan , Aug 02 (APP):The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has approved an increase in the annual MBBS admission capacity of Gomal Medical College (GMC), Dera Ismail Khan, from 100 to 150 students, marking a major milestone in the institution’s continued growth and contribution to medical education.

The Gomal Medical College administration announced the approval through its official digital media platform, describing it as a landmark achievement that would expand educational opportunities for aspiring medical students and strengthen the supply of qualified healthcare professionals for southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other parts of the country.

Dean and Chief Executive of Gomal Medical College, Dr. Naseem Saba, welcomed the PMDC’s decision and termed it a significant achievement for the institution.

She said the approval reflected the college’s sustained efforts to enhance academic excellence, upgrade infrastructure, strengthen faculty, and fully comply with PMDC’s quality standards and accreditation requirements. She noted that the increase in admission capacity was the result of the collective commitment and hard work of the college administration, faculty, staff, and governing body.

Dr. Saba congratulated the Board of Governors, faculty members, administrative staff, students, and all stakeholders for their dedication and valuable contributions in securing the approval. She said their unwavering support and teamwork had played a pivotal role in achieving this important milestone.

She added that the increase in MBBS seats would enable the institution to provide quality medical education to a larger number of deserving students while helping meet the country’s growing demand for competent healthcare professionals.
