Court awards 37-year prison term in Bhera murder case

SARGODHA, Jul 31 (APP):Additional District and Sessions Judge on Friday sentenced a man to 37 years in prison after convicting him in a murder case.

According to the prosecution, Muhammad Naveed, a resident of Bhera, murdered Nasir Mehmood in February 2024 over an old enmity. Bhera police registered a case under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code and submitted the challan to the court for trial.

After hearing final arguments, the court convicted Naveed and sentenced him to 37 years in prison. The court also imposed a fine of Rs700,000. In case of default, he will undergo additional imprisonment as provided under the law.
