ISLAMABAD, Jul 30 (APP):Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Thursday described the reported incident involving veteran television actor Muhammad Ahmed on the set of a drama serial as not only condemnable but highly deplorable and proposed a mentorship programme for emerging artists.
In a post on X, the minister said the incident had highlighted the need for greater guidance and professionalism within the television industry.
“I would like to offer a solution in the form of a mentorship programme for young TV artists headed by senior TV artists like Ahmed sahib or a council on the same format,” he wrote.
Tarar said he would convene a meeting of television artists to seek suggestions on the proposal.
The minister said the initiative was aimed at encouraging experienced performers to mentor younger artists and fostering a more respectful and professional working environment in the country’s entertainment industry.
