MULTAN, Jul 30 (APP):The district administration has intensified its crackdown against profiteers and hoarders across the district to facilitate citizens by ensuring the availability of essential commodities at controlled prices.
During the last one month, price control magistrates conducted extensive inspections in markets and bazaars across Multan, leading to the arrest of 383 profiteers and the imposition of fines exceeding Rs 600,000 on violators.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr. Faisal Saleem said that price control teams were carrying out inspections on a daily basis to ensure the sale of essential items at government-prescribed rates. He warned that no one would be allowed to overcharge consumers or engage in hoarding.
He directed shopkeepers to prominently display official price lists and said strict legal action would be taken against those found violating government price regulations.
The deputy commissioner reiterated that providing essential commodities to the public at notified rates remained the district administration’s foremost priority and vowed to continue the ongoing campaign against profiteering and hoarding.
