107 suspects held with arms, stolen vehicles & narcotics in Balochistan operation

Police arrested at least 107 suspects and recovered a large quantity of weapons along with stolen vehicles and narcotics from their possession in the last three weeks during the ongoing special campaign against suspects and criminal elements across the province.

QUETTA, Jul 29 (APP): Police arrested at least 107 suspects and recovered a large quantity of weapons along with stolen vehicles and narcotics from their possession in the last three weeks during the ongoing special campaign against suspects and criminal elements across the province.
According to the Balochistan Police Spokesperson, on the instructions of Inspector General of Police Balochistan Muhammad Tahir, a special campaign is underway in all seven ranges of the province, including Quetta to maintain zero tolerance against criminal elements and ensure the safety of law-abiding citizens.
He said that during the ongoing various operations, 83 revolvers and pistols, 7 Kalashnikovs, 9 shotguns/rifles, 550 bullets and cartridges, while 57 magazines were also recovered from the possession of the arrested suspects.
Balochistan Police arrested 133 suspects in operations against drug peddlers and recovered 305 kg 831 grams of hashish, 9 kg 370 grams of ice shisha, 1 kg 200 grams of opium, 45 grams of crystal, 230 grams of heroin and 52 bottles of alcohol from their possession.
The spokesman said that 56 declared offenders, 249 absconding and 369 suspects involved in various crimes were detained during the campaign, while 11 hostages were also safely recovered.
He said that 7 stolen vehicles, 25 motorcycles and 8 mobile phones were also recovered, along with Rs 3,000 in cash stolen during various incidents, Balochistan Police also seized 2.25 grams of gold, 50 cotton Iranian cigarettes and 96 kg 672 packets of gutka.
He said that 3 vehicles and 4 motorcycles were seized for violating Section 550 and Section 114, while tinted windows were removed from 2701 vehicles.
The spokesperson, in order to promote cooperation between the public and the police, police personnel have been instructed to adopt a polite and respectful attitude towards the public, while solving the problems of the public at the police station level on a priority basis and redressing public complaints in a timely and transparent manner.
He said that assistance from the police of other provinces to check the criminal records of the arrested accused and exchange of data of the detained accused are also ongoing, while the easy escape of the accused involved in crimes from other provinces is also being prevented.
He noted that the aim of which is to prevent the free movement of criminal elements to different districts and other provinces of the country and make it impossible to hide.
The spokesperson said that operations against criminal elements would continue uninterrupted to provide a peaceful and secure environment for the protection of the public and to maintain the rule of law.
