ISLAMABAD, Jul 27 (APP): Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has called for renewed national commitment to eliminate hepatitis from the country.
Marking World Hepatitis Day 2026, the Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has urged that greater awareness, early diagnosis, and timely treatment are the cornerstones of protecting public health and achieving a hepatitis-free future.
In a message on World Hepatitis Day 2026, observed under the theme “Hepatitis: Let’s Break It Down,” the Chairman Senate stressed the need to break down barriers to awareness, testing, and treatment.
He said that hepatitis remains a silent but preventable disease, and collective efforts by the government, healthcare professionals, civil society, and citizens are vital to achieving the global goal of eliminating viral hepatitis by 2030.
Chairman Senate called upon all Pakistanis to adopt preventive measures, get tested, and encourage others to seek early medical care.
He reaffirmed the Senate’s commitment to supporting policies that strengthen public health and ensure equitable access to quality healthcare for every citizen.
