Child killed, another seriously injured in Karak petrol drum fire

A seven-year-old child was killed while another seriously injured after a petrol-filled drum caught fire inside a house in Zarah Khel area of Karak district on Sunday.

PESHAWAR, Jul 26 (APP): A seven-year-old child was killed while another seriously injured after a petrol-filled drum caught fire inside a house in Zarah Khel area of Karak district on Sunday.
According to police, the fire broke out suddenly in a room of a house belonging to a man identified as Roshan. The flames quickly engulfed the entire room.
As a result, seven-year-old Ahmad died at the scene, while nine-year-old Akash suffered severe burn injuries. He was immediately shifted to a hospital for medical treatment.
Police said a petrol unit is located near the victim’s house and a quantity of petrol had been stored inside a drum in the house. The stored fuel is believed to have ignited, leading to the tragic incident.
The fire also completely destroyed one room of the house. Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the blaze.
