GUJRAT, Jul 25 (APP): The district administration has established a 24-hour Emergency Control Room to coordinate relief efforts and ensure a swift response to rain-related emergencies during the ongoing monsoon spell, here on Saturday.
The control room was set up on the directives of Deputy Commissioner (DC), Noor-ul-Ain Qureshi, according to official sources.
Residents have been advised to contact the relevant authorities in the event of heavy rainfall, urban flooding, rising water levels in rivers and streams, road damage or any other emergency.
The District Emergency Control Room will remain operational round the clock and can be reached at 053-3727487.
The administration also urged citizens to contact Rescue 1122 for rescue and medical emergencies, Police Helpline 15 for law and order-related incidents and the WASA Gujrat Helpline 1334 for complaints related to rainwater drainage and sewerage.
The district administration appealed to the public to exercise caution during adverse weather conditions and cooperate with the concerned departments to help ensure an effective emergency response and public safety.
