FOSPAH sensitises female cadets on workplace harassment laws at Murree college

ISLAMABAD, Jul 24 (APP):The Federal Ombudsperson Secretariat for Protection Against Harassment (FOSPAH) Friday conducted an awareness session at Fatima Jinnah Cadet College, Murree, to educate more than 150 first and second-year female cadets on the importance of safe, respectful and harassment-free workplaces.
The session was led by Communications Officer Ms. Yumna Jamil, along with Assistant Registrars Ms. Shaza Kaleem and Ms. Aneesa Zeb.
The participants were sensitised to the concept of workplace harassment, their legal rights and responsibilities, and the complaint and redress mechanisms available under the Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act.
The speakers encouraged the students to recognise unacceptable behaviour, understand the legal safeguards available to them and play an active role in promoting workplaces founded on dignity, respect and equal opportunity.
The interactive session also highlighted the importance of creating awareness among young women before they enter professional life, enabling them to identify and respond effectively to workplace harassment.
FOSPAH said it would continue expanding its nationwide awareness initiatives through education, outreach and engagement with academic institutions to promote safe, inclusive and harassment-free workplaces across the country.
