DIG Security Umar reviews PM House security, orders stronger screening measures

ISLAMABAD, Jul 24 (APP):Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Security Rana Umar Farooq chaired an important meeting with SP PM House Imtiaz Ali Mirani and Assistant Director Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU) Umar Amin to review security arrangements at the Prime Minister’s House.
A police official told APP on Friday that the meeting focused on the security framework, including screening procedures at entry and exit points, the operational readiness of the Bomb Disposal Unit and other protective measures.
The DIG Umar conducted a comprehensive review of the checking mechanism and assessed the performance of the Bomb Disposal Unit to ensure the highest level of security at the sensitive installation.
He directed the officers concerned to immediately implement the identified recommendations and further strengthen screening procedures at all entry and exit points to enhance overall security.
Umar also emphasized maintaining constant vigilance, improving operational preparedness and ensuring close coordination among all security units to effectively respond to any potential threat, the official added.
