GUJRAT, Jul 24 (APP):The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) continued its food safety drive across Gujrat district, inspecting 51 food businesses to ensure compliance with hygiene and food safety standards.
According to PFA sources, the inspection campaign was carried out on the directions of Deputy Director PFA Sadia Rafat.
During the drive, improvement notices were issued to 16 food business operators for violating hygiene regulations, while five businesses were fined a total of Rs99,000.
The inspection teams also collected six food samples for laboratory analysis and seized and destroyed 12 kilograms of expired food items.
In a separate operation, the PFA seized a vehicle carrying 1,500 kilograms of oil prepared from animal fat. Legal action is being taken against those responsible in accordance with the law.
