PHA intensifies monsoon tree plantation drive

The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) on Friday accelerated its monsoon tree plantation campaign across Sargodha as part of the Punjab government’s initiative to expand green cover and improve the urban environment.

SARGODHA, Jul 24 (APP):The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) on Friday accelerated its monsoon tree plantation campaign across Sargodha as part of the Punjab government’s initiative to expand green cover and improve the urban environment.
Speaking at a plantation ceremony held at Dr.Faisal Masood Teaching Hospital and Government Mian Maula Bakhsh Hospital,PHA Director Arshad Ahmed Wattoo said that the campaign was being carried out in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister(CM),Maryam Nawaz to transform Sargodha into a “Green City”.
He said departments had been assigned plantation targets to ensure the success of the drive and urged citizens to plant trees in their homes and neighbourhoods to help combat environmental pollution.
Wattoo also emphasised the need to protect and maintain newly planted saplings to ensure their survival and maximize the environmental benefits of the campaign.
Medical Superintendent(MS),Dr.Sohail Khawaja,who attended the ceremony along with other officials,described tree plantation as the need of the hour and called on the public to actively support the initiative.
The event concluded with prayers for the country’s peace,stability and prosperity.
