Five employees of the Irrigation Department,who had been stranded for four days in a flood-affected area near the Zero Line beyond Post Nandala after flash flooding cut off their access route,were rescued by Rescue 1122 on Friday.

GUJRAT, Jul 24 (APP):Five employees of the Irrigation Department,who had been stranded for four days in a flood-affected area near the Zero Line beyond Post Nandala after flash flooding cut off their access route,were rescued by Rescue 1122 on Friday.

According to Rescue 1122 officials,the workers were constructing a protective embankment when a sudden rise in floodwater submerged their return route,leaving them stranded.

Rescue 1122 teams reached the site and safely evacuate all five workers.The operation lasted around seven hours.

The rescued workers were identified as Imran Khan(18),Sifat Ullah(40),Imran Sarwar(20),Muhammad Mansha(22), and Ali Raza(25).

Officials said all five workers were brought to safety after the prolonged rescue operation.
