A high-level Polish delegation led by Pawel Dabrowski, Plenipotentiary of Poland’s Minister of the Interior for International Cooperation, visited the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) headquarters on Thursday, where it reviewed Pakistan’s disaster preparedness systems, emergency response capabilities and technological initiatives aimed at reducing disaster risks and strengthening resilience, according to a press release.

ISLAMABAD, Jul 23 (APP):A high-level Polish delegation led by Pawel Dabrowski, Plenipotentiary of Poland’s Minister of the Interior for International Cooperation, visited the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) headquarters on Thursday, where it reviewed Pakistan’s disaster preparedness systems, emergency response capabilities and technological initiatives aimed at reducing disaster risks and strengthening resilience, according to a press release.
The delegation was briefed at the National Emergencies Operation Centre (NEOC) on Pakistan’s evolving disaster management framework and the role of advanced technologies in forecasting, preparedness and response.
Chairman NDMA Lt Gen Inam Haider Malik outlined measures being undertaken to enhance disaster risk reduction, regional cooperation and international coordination.
He highlighted efforts to improve early warning systems, strengthen emergency preparedness and integrate next-generation technologies into disaster management operations.
The visiting delegation was given a detailed presentation on the NEOC’s operational capabilities and NDMA’s coordination mechanisms with federal and provincial authorities, security institutions, humanitarian organisations and international partners.
Officials also explained Pakistan’s approach to anticipatory action, localized risk communication and resource mobilisation aimed at ensuring timely and effective disaster response.
During the visit, the delegation was shown Disaster Lens 2026, a platform designed to support disaster monitoring and preparedness, along with various comprehensive international simulation exercises conducted to test response readiness and coordination mechanisms.
The Polish delegation appreciated NDMA’s disaster management model and operational capabilities, describing them as a valuable example of modern disaster preparedness and response.
Both sides expressed interest in expanding cooperation in disaster management, emergency response and capacity building, while underscoring the need for stronger institutional linkages to address growing challenges posed by climate change and complex disasters.
