According to an NHMP spokesperson, the operation was carried out on the basis of intelligence information, leading to the interception of 11 trucks transporting the contraband from Peshawar to Lahore.

During the search, Motorway Police recovered a large quantity of non-custom paid cigarettes valued at around Rs2.2 billion and took 11 truck drivers into custody.

The spokesperson said the seized cigarettes, trucks and the detained suspects had been handed over to the Customs authorities for further legal proceedings.
