ITP announces traffic diversions for foreign delegations, shares alternate routes

ISLAMABAD, Jul 22 (APP):Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) issued a traffic advisory in connection with the movement of foreign delegations, announcing temporary traffic diversions on key roads of the federal capital and advising commuters to use alternate routes and leave 20 to 25 minutes earlier than their usual travel time.

An official told APP on Wednesday that temporary traffic diversions would be enforced at different times on the route from Club Road to Kashmir Chowk and from Serena Chowk to Zero Point to facilitate the safe and smooth movement of foreign delegations.

The official said Islamabad Traffic Police officers would remain deployed across the city to regulate traffic, assist commuters and ensure smooth vehicular movement during the diversion period.

Route 1: For Commuters Travelling from Bhara Kahu and Tramri Park Road to Islamabad

Alternate Routes:

Murree Road

Faizabad

Express Highway

Route 2: For Traffic Heading Towards Serena Chowk and the Red Zone

Alternate Route:

Faisal Avenue

VIP Movement Diversions

Temporary Diversions:

Club Road to Kashmir Chowk

Serena Chowk to Zero Point

The official advised motorists to plan their journeys in advance and leave 20 to 25 minutes earlier to avoid inconvenience during the movement of the visiting delegations.

He urged commuters to cooperate with traffic police personnel, strictly follow diversion signs and use the designated alternate routes to help maintain smooth traffic flow.

The official added that Islamabad Traffic Police officers would remain present on roads to facilitate the public, while the latest traffic updates and travel advisories would continue to be shared through the official Islamabad Police social media platforms for the guidance and convenience of commuters.
