Nasir Shah for preparing comprehensive list of affected allottees of land development agencies

KARACHI, Jul 21 (APP): The Government of Sindh, expedited measures to resolve the long-standing issues of allottees of land development agencies, eliminate illegal encroachments and provide timely relief to affected citizens.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the Provincial Cabinet’s Land Committee chaired by Sindh Minister for Local Government, Nasir Hussain Shah, who, according to a statement issued here, directed all concerned departments to prepare a comprehensive and final list of affected allottees at the earliest to facilitate transparent and merit-based resolution of their cases.

Sindh Labour and Human Resource Minister, Saeed Ghani, the Additional Chief Secretary Local Government Sindh, Directors General of the Karachi Development Authority (KDA), Hyderabad Development Authority (HDA), Sukkur Development Authority (SDA), and other senior officials attended the meeting.

The committee conducted a detailed review of complaints lodged by allottees of Sindh’s land development agencies, including issues relating to land allotments, encroachments, pending cases and other matters affecting genuine allottees.

Senior officials briefed the meeting on the steps taken so far and the progress made in addressing public grievances.

Nasir Hussain Shah, at the occasion, expressed the Sindh Government’s commitment to protect the legitimate rights of allottees and take every possible measure to resolve their grievances. “Injustice or exploitation of affected citizens would not be tolerated under any circumstances,” he stated.

A significant number of plots and valuable government lands under the KDA, Malir Development Authority (MDA) and Lyari Development Authority (LDA) had already been retrieved from land grabbers, while operations against encroachers were ongoing in other areas, the minister said vowing that operation would continue unabatedly and assistance of the police and other law enforcement agencies would be sought if required to vacate illegally occupied plots belonging to genuine allottees and ensure their restoration to the rightful owners.

Nasir Shah also urged affected allottees to approach the relevant development authorities, assuring them that the Sindh Government would make every possible effort to address their complaints and provide relief in accordance with the law.

He further directed all concerned officials to ensure prompt disposal of public complaints, warning that unnecessary delays or negligence in handling such matters would not be tolerated.
