Deputy commissioner reviews monsoon preparedness in Attock, orders high alert
ATTOCK, Jul 21 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Dr. Mudassar Ahmed Shah on Tuesday visited the areas of Mirza and Shakardara to review monsoon preparedness and inspect seasonal streams, water flow and protective arrangements, directing all concerned departments to remain on high alert during the ongoing rainy season.
Accompanied by officials from relevant departments, the deputy commissioner inspected drainage systems, the condition of seasonal streams, water flow and other vulnerable locations. He directed authorities to maintain continuous monitoring of low-lying areas and ensure that drainage systems remain fully operational to prevent urban flooding and facilitate the smooth disposal of rainwater.
Dr. Shah also said the protection of life and property remained the district administration’s top priority and stressed the need for close coordination among all departments. He instructed officials to remain fully prepared to respond promptly to any emergency arising from heavy rainfall.
The deputy commissioner also directed Rescue 1122 and other concerned agencies to keep their machinery, manpower and emergency equipment ready for immediate deployment. He instructed field officers to maintain a constant presence in vulnerable areas and complete all precautionary measures in a timely manner to minimize risks during the monsoon season.
On this occasion, he said the district administration was fully prepared to provide all possible assistance to residents and ensure an effective response to any emergency caused by the ongoing monsoon rains.
