Federal Minister for Law, Justice and Human Rights, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar on Monday met United Nations (UN) Women Chief of Staff, Mohammad Naciri, with both sides agreeing to strengthen cooperation for the promotion of women’s rights, gender equality and women’s empowerment.

ISLAMABAD, Jul 20 (APP): Federal Minister for Law, Justice and Human Rights, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar on Monday met United Nations (UN) Women Chief of Staff, Mohammad Naciri, with both sides agreeing to strengthen cooperation for the promotion of women’s rights, gender equality and women’s empowerment.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed progress on Pakistan’s National Policy on Ending Violence Against Women and discussed measures to further advance the rights of women and girls.
They also exchanged views on the upcoming South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) conference and the promotion of regional cooperation.
The discussion covered women’s economic empowerment, digital inclusion and the role of artificial intelligence in advancing gender equality.
Mohammad Naciri conveyed UN Women’s appreciation for Pakistan’s successful hosting of the 9th Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Ministerial Conference on Women and acknowledged the country’s chairmanship of the forum for the next two years.
The UN Women Chief of Staff also presented a letter of appreciation to Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar in recognition of Pakistan’s successful hosting of the ministerial conference. Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to promoting the rights of women and girls and strengthening cooperation between Pakistan and UN Women.
